A new development is being fuelled at a little-used riverside site in Champlin that once served as a steamboat mooring. The Mississippi Crossings development, which stretches along the Mississippi River, is part of a $100 million development that will bring more than 1,000 new homes, offices, retail and residential units, and office and retail space to Champler.
The location of the community will bring residents within walking distance of Minneapolis, St. Paul and other major cities in the region. Residents who want to visit a nearby metropolitan area are in luck, as they can drive about 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis to get everything the city has to offer.
